Traffic Stop for Speeding Leads to Firearm Arrest in Mattapan

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested 20-year-old Ceide Guillaume of Dorchester on firearm-related charges following a traffic stop at the intersection of Tiverton Road and Lorna Road in Mattapan.

At approximately 10:18 PM, officers were conducting directed patrols in the area of Morton Street to address traffic safety concerns when they observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed on Fuller Street toward Morton Street. Officers followed the vehicle onto Morton Street and then Lorna Road before initiating a stop at Tiverton Road.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed several occupants and requested the driver, later identified as Ceide Guillaume, to produce his license and registration. Guillaume was only able to present an employee ID card.

During the interaction, Guillaume displayed signs of extreme nervousness, including shaking hands, heavy breathing, and repeatedly fidgeting with his shorts using his right hand. He also avoided eye contact and stared blankly at officers. Despite multiple requests, he refused to retrieve the vehicle registration from the glove box.

Based on Guillaume’s behavior and that of the passengers, officers suspected the presence of a firearm in the vehicle. After further investigation, officers confirmed a firearm was in the vehicle and safely removed the occupants. Officers searched the glove box and recovered a Stoeger STR-9 9mm firearm loaded with eight rounds in a 10-round magazine. There was no round in the chamber.

Guillaume was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on the following charges:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm

He was also issued a Massachusetts Uniform Citation for Speeding Greater than Reasonable and Proper.
