On Thursday, July 10, 20225, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Kewan Burton-Strong, 26, of Boston, on firearm charges.
At about 11:46 PM, officers responded to the area of 90 Glenway for a report of a person with a gun. Boston Police Operations provided officers with a description of the suspect who was seen reaching towards his waistband and making threats to someone.
Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect walking behind a vehicle on Page Street. Officers exited their marked cruiser and quickly stopped the suspect. Due to the nature of the call, a pat frisk was conducted, which revealed a firearm from the suspect’s waistband.
District B-3 Detectives were requested to respond to the scene and process the evidence. The firearm was determined to be a Colt .32 with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine.
Burton-Strong was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Second Offense
- Carrying a Firearm without a License, Second Offense
- Possession of Ammunition without a License, Subsequent Offense
