On Saturday, July 5, 2025, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Camran Brown, 22, of Dorchester, on multiple firearm offenses.
At about 1:50 PM, officers were on scene at a large party call on River Street, when they heard officers broadcast over the radio of a fight with a potential armed suspect. Officers began to canvass the area for the suspect, and observed an individual walking towards them while touching his right pocket. The individual was then seen to tap his pocket again, and pinned his right arm to his body.
As the suspect walked past officers, he immediately took off in a full sprint. A foot pursuit ensued, and officers observed the suspect discard an unknown item. Officers looked underneath a vehicle and located a firearm.
The suspect continued to run and was apprehended in the area of 920 Cummins Highway. The firearm was photographed and processed by Detectives which was determined to be a Ghost Gun with one round in the chamber and sixteen rounds in the magazine.
Brown was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court for the following offenses:
– Carrying a Firearm without a License
– Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
– Carrying a Loaded License without a License
– Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
