On Saturday, July 5, 2025, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Oved Rejouis, 27, of Dorchester, on various firearm charges.
At about 5:15 AM, officers responded to the area of Stratton Street and Ames Street for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers did not observe any individuals fighting, but observed multiple groups in the area.
As officers were speaking with the groups, they observed an individual across the street to be hypervigilant as a responding Boston Police cruiser drove by. Officers could now see the individual to be manipulating the right side of his waistband and turned his body away from the cruiser.
The individual was seen clutching his waistband as he was walking towards Westview Street. Officers exited their cruiser and attempted to conduct a pat frisk. As the suspect was removing his hand from his waistband, a firearm fell from his right shorts pant leg.
The suspect was immediately placed into handcuffs, and B-3 Detectives were requested to respond for assistance in processing the evidence. The firearm was determined to be a Ruger SR1911 with one round in the chamber and eight rounds in the magazine. An inquiry of the firearm’s serial number revealed that it was stolen.
Rejouis was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
- Unlawful Carrying of a Loaded Firearm
- Receiving Stolen Property
