Suspect Arrested for Two Counts of Drug Trafficking Following a Search Warrant in Mattapan

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) and B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Rudy Martinez, 30, of Mattapan, on various drug offenses.

At about 2:30 PM, officers were conducting a drug investigation and execution of search warrants in the area of 415 River Street, Mattapan. Officers made entrance into the apartment, and observed that a window screen had been removed.

Drug Control Unit officers in the area observed the target of their investigation to be walking towards his vehicle. An officer exited his unmarked cruiser and the suspect immediately took off in a full sprint towards Blue Hill Avenue. Officers were able to quickly apprehend the suspect and placed him into handcuffs.

Officers returned to the address and executed their search warrants. As a result, officers recovered multiple plastic bags of fentanyl and crack cocaine, drug packaging and manufacturing material, and two digital scales.

Martinez was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following offenses:

–          Trafficking of Class A, 85 Grams of Fentanyl

–          Trafficking of Class B, 25 Grams of Cocaine
