Firearm Recovered, Suspect Arrested Following Disturbance Call in Dorchester

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested 19-year-old Erick Manan of Dorchester on multiple firearm-related charges following a response to a disturbance call at 79 Fayston Street in Dorchester.

At approximately 12:29 AM, officers responded to a radio call for a loud party in the area. While en route, officers were aware of a recent ShotSpotter activation that occurred the night before at approximately 12:57 AM near 68-70 Fayston Street. Given the recent suspected gunfire in the neighborhood, officers approached the scene with increased caution.

Upon arrival, officers observed a group of approximately 10 to 15 individuals gathered on the steps of 8-10 Dunkeld Street. Several appeared to be drinking from red plastic cups, and there were liquor bottles, a cooler, and a large speaker present.

As officers exited their cruisers and approached the group, a male individual, later identified as Erick Manan, stood up and immediately fled on foot toward Quincy Street. While running, he was seen reaching toward his waistband in a manner that indicated he was trying to retain or conceal an object.

Officers pursued Manan on foot and observed him remove a firearm from his waistband and throw it near 180 Quincy Street. The firearm struck the roof of a parked vehicle before landing on the sidewalk. Officers quickly apprehended Manan and secured the weapon.

Additional units were requested to assist as the arrest was taking place. Several individuals from the original group approached the scene, becoming increasingly confrontational. Manan began resisting and had to be physically placed into a cruiser before being transported to District B-2 for booking.

Following the arrest, officers returned to the party location and instructed all individuals to collect their belongings and leave the area. Despite continued verbal hostility from some attendees, the group eventually complied and dispersed.

The recovered firearm was identified as a Glock 17 Gen5 with a high-capacity magazine capable of holding 31 rounds. The magazine contained 26 rounds, and there was one round chambered.

Erick Manan is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on the following charges:

  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Malicious Destruction of Property Under $1,200
