On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester), in collaboration with the Youth Violence Strike Force, arrested 21-year-old Freddiel Ramos and 23-year-old Jan Casanova, both of Dorchester. The arrests followed a comprehensive investigation into a violent incident that occurred on June 10, 2025, near Topliff Street.
The investigation was initiated after officers responded to a report of a group of individuals with weapons chasing and allegedly assaulting a victim behind a residence on Topliff Street.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives assigned to District C-11 obtained a search warrant for an apartment located at 111 Devon Street in Dorchester. On June 11, 2025, members of the Boston Police Department executed the warrant, leading to the recovery of the following items:
- A loaded Glock firearm equipped with a laser sight
- A 31-round DURAMAG magazine loaded with .223 caliber ammunition
- A separate pistol magazine
- Multiple rounds of ammunition, including a dummy round
- Personal identification documents
- A Daisy BB gun
- A gray Nike sweatshirt
- Additional personal paperwork
Additionally, a vehicle believed to have been used in the incident was transported to District C-11 for processing. No further evidence was recovered from the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, both suspects were taken into custody and are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on the following charges:

- Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
