On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, Officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) arrested 22-year-old Arlandey Santana of South Boston on multiple charges, including firearms offenses, after responding to a report of an attempted break-in.
At approximately 7:30 PM, Officers responded to a radio call for an attempted break-in at 965 Bennington Street. Upon arrival, Officers observed two males matching the provided description attempting to enter Mi Pueblito restaurant near the intersection of Saratoga and Boardman Streets.
Officers activated their emergency lights and exited their vehicle, ordering the individuals to stop. One of the suspects, later identified as Arlandey Santana, disregarded the commands and fled on foot while clutching his waistband. Officers pursued Santana in their cruiser and observed him holding both his waistband and a satchel worn around his neck.
Santana was stopped near 948 Bennington Street and taken into custody without further incident. A search of the satchel revealed a tan Glock-style handgun with a defaced serial number. The firearm contained a 17-round magazine loaded with twelve rounds of 9mm ammunition and was equipped with a gold-colored “switch” device, converting it into a fully automatic machine gun.
While officers processed the arrest, they received information that a second male suspect had been seen hiding behind an apartment building at 946 Saratoga Street. Witnesses later reported seeing the same individual fleeing through a nearby park barefoot and wearing a white shirt. Officers located the male at 130 Brandywine Drive, where he was briefly detained and identified for investigative purposes.
Arlandey Santana was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on the following charges:
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
- Possession of a Machine Gun
- Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number
- Attempt to Commit a Crime (Breaking and Entering)
