Boston Police Observe Police Memorial Sunday

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, members of the Boston Police Department gathered to observe Police Memorial Sunday, an annual day of remembrance established by state statute to honor all deceased members of the Department.

The observance began with a memorial Mass celebrated by Reverend John J. Connolly and Grand Rabbi Y.A. Korff. Officers, both active and retired, stood in uniform alongside family members and members of the community to pay their respects to fallen colleagues.

Police Memorial Sunday is held each year on the first Sunday in June and serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifice and service of those who dedicated their lives to protecting the City of Boston. The event offers an opportunity for the Department to reflect, remember, and express gratitude for those who have passed.

The Boston Police Relief Association and department leadership extend their sincere appreciation to all who participated in this meaningful tradition.
