On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Officers assigned to the Boston Police District D-4 Drug Control Unit (South End/Back Bay) arrested 29-year-old Jonathon Turner of Springfield, Massachusetts, on multiple drug-related charges during a proactive narcotics interdiction operation in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard.
At approximately 11:34 AM, Officers conducting surveillance observed an individual, later identified as Turner, engaged in what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction. Officers approached the suspected buyer and recovered a quantity of a white, rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine from the individual’s hand. The buyer was issued a summons to appear in Boston Municipal Court on a charge of Possession of a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine).
Following that interaction, Officers approached Turner, who was standing inside a bus shelter at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street, and detained him for further investigation. A subsequent search led to the recovery of 101 bags of a white, rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine from the front pocket of Turner’s sweatshirt. The total weight of the recovered narcotics was approximately 122 grams. Officers also seized an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.
Jonathon Turner was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on the following charges:
- Distribution of a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine)
- Trafficking a Class B Substance (100–200 grams)
