At about 10:10 AM, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to the area of 1 Nashua Street for a report of a laptop theft outside North Station. A visiting couple had just arrived via Amtrak and were waiting for a ride when a suspect grabbed the victim’s bag which contained a laptop and fled on foot.
A thorough investigation was conducted and officers began to canvass the area. The quick thinking Detective coordinated with TD Garden security, who later located a discarded bag near the dumpsters in the rear of the Garden. The bag contained a laptop, matching the victim’s description.
The detective responded to 100 Legends Way, and was able to reunite the bag containing all of its property, back to its rightful owner. Throughout the response, officers showed compassion and professionalism, even providing the couple a ride to their hotel following the incident.
This case is a strong reminder of the value of teamwork, rapid response, and community partnerships in solving crimes and supporting those we serve.
