On Monday, May 12, 2025, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male, on multiple firearm related charges.
At about 8:18 PM, while traveling on Blue Hill Avenue onto River Street, officers observed a vehicle cross over two lanes to take a right-hand turn. The vehicle was also seen to not have a front license plate, and its rear tail lights were not illuminated.
A motor vehicle stop was initiated in the area of 599 River Street. Officers spoke with the operator of the vehicle and explained the reason for the traffic stop. While speaking with the operator, officers began to converse with the four passengers. Officers took notice of one of the rear passengers as he refused to move his hands from his groin area.
The occupants of the vehicle were requested to exit the vehicle to conduct a pat frisk. As one of the rear passengers was exiting the vehicle, he dropped his phone and was assisted out of the vehicle. The officers immediately felt what he knew to be a firearm tucked under the suspect’s armpit.
The firearm was determined to be a Ghost Gun with one round in the chamber and nineteen rounds in the magazine. A flashlight was affixed under the barrel on the lower receiver and a green dot optic sight was attached to the top of the slide.
The 16-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court for the following charges:
– Delinquent to wit; Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card
– Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Loaded Firearm
– Delinquent to wit; Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
– Delinquent to wit; Possession of a Firearm Without a License
– Delinquent to wit; Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
