At about 10:00 PM, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male, on multiple firearm offenses.
Officers responded to the area of Franklin Park to move along numerous cars in the area. Upon arrival, officers observed numerous groups of vehicles and individuals congregating in the area. Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to alert the group to disperse.
Officers observed multiple people return to their vehicles, but observed one male run across traffic while using both his hands to clutch his waistband. Officers exited their cruiser, and the individual took off in a full sprint, still clutching his waistband.
The suspect ran towards a vehicle, and entered the back seat. Officers were quickly able to remove the suspect from the vehicle before he could shut the door. As officers removed the suspect, they felt the handle of a firearm.
A violent struggle ensued, and the suspect refused to let go of the firearm. Officers gave multiple verbal commands to deescalate the suspect, which he refused and tucked his hands under his body. The suspect continued to refuse officers orders, and officers were able to remove the firearm before safely placing into handcuffs. The firearm was later determined to be a Canik TP9-SFX with one round in the chamber, and sixteen rounds in the magazine.
Officers conducted a search incident to arrest, and recovered a firearm laser attachment, one plastic bag containing forty-eight designer packaging bags of marijuana, and $685 in U.S. Currency. Officers also recovered firearm parts, and numerous rounds of ammunition from inside the vehicle.
The 17-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court for the following charges:
