On Friday, April 18, 2025, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) and District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested a 17-year-old male from Mattapan on firearm-related charges following a response to a loud party at 50 Burt Street in Dorchester.
At approximately 10:21 PM, Officers responded to a report of a large, loud party at the residence and observed multiple individuals, many appearing to be underage, consuming alcohol outside the property. Additional units were requested to assist with dispersing the crowd and conducting a further investigation.
While officers were clearing the area, a 17-year-old male was observed by Officers on Bailey Street as he jumped a fence into a nearby backyard. His behavior appeared evasive and hurried. Upon noticing the Officers, the suspect changed his demeanor and attempted to walk away casually.
Officers stopped the suspect near 32 Bailey Street, and during the investigation, a firearm was recovered in the backyard he had just exited. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
District B-3 Detectives responded and secured the firearm, which was identified as a black 9mm Canik Century Arms semi-automatic pistol. The weapon was equipped with a large-capacity magazine containing seven live rounds, including one round chambered. The firearm’s serial number had been deliberately obliterated.
The 17-year-old juvenile was arrested and will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on the following charges:
- Delinquent to wit: Trespassing
- Delinquent to wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Delinquent to wit: Carrying a Loaded Firearm
- Delinquent to wit: Possession of a Large-Capacity Feeding Device
- Delinquent to wit: Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
- Delinquent to wit: Defacing a Firearm Serial Number
