At about 3:00 PM, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District A-1 (Downtown) arrested Mark Dioguardi, 37, of Revere, for drug trafficking.
Officers were conducting a drug investigation in the area of 329 Washington Street, when they observed a male individual exit the Downtown Crossing MBTA station. Officers observed the male to make a phone call and walk towards the McDonald’s before sitting next to an unknown male. Officers could see that neither of these males ordered food from the restaurant.
Officers maintained surveillance and observed one male now counting an unknown amount of money. Both individuals exited the restaurant and began to walk in separate directions. The officers observed Dioguardi walk towards the Aquarium MBTA station, make a phone call, and retrieve an unknown item from his backpack.
A few moments later, officers observed an unknown individual approach Dioguardi inside the train station. The two individuals made a hand-to-hand exchange, and then separated. Officers now believed that a street level drug transaction had transpired.
Officers were quickly able to stop one suspect, and advised him of the reason for the stop. Officers recovered a plastic bag of Fentanyl and told the suspect he would be summonsed to court for Possession of Class A.
The remaining Drug Control officers were able to stop Dioguardi inside the MBTA station. Officers identified themselves and quickly placed the suspect into handcuffs. Officers searched the suspect and recovered two plastic bags of Fentanyl from his pants. Officers searched the suspect’s backpack and recovered twelve individually wrapped plastic bags of Fentanyl. The drugs were later determined to weigh approximately 15 total grams. Officers also recovered $344 in U.S. currency.
Dioguardi was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the following charges:
▪ Trafficking of Class A
▪ Distribution of Class A
