Suspect Arrested Following a Stabbing in the South End

At about 9:20 PM, on Monday, April 7, 2025, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Williams Mells, 82, of Boston, on assault and battery charges.

Officers responded to the area of 444 Harrison Avenue for a report of a person stabbed. Boston Police Operations advised officers that the suspect attacked the victim with a pair of nail clippers and fled the scene. Officers were provided a description of the suspect and direction of flight.

Officers were able to locate the suspect standing outside of the address and immediately placed him into handcuffs. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mells was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the following charge:
