Mattapan Officers Arrest Package Theft Suspect

At about 3:07 PM, on Sunday, April 6, 2025, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Jahar Pinkett, 41, of Boston, on larceny charges.

Officers responded to the area of 91 Babson Street for a report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a male suspect walked up the front steps and stole two packages. The male suspect was seen fleeing the area with a female individual holding a dog. A witness in the area, yelled at the suspects, and was able to recover the stolen packages.

Officers were provided video surveillance and broadcasted a description of the suspects and their direction of flight. Officers began to canvass the area and located the suspects walking a dog in the area of 1450 Blue Hill Avenue. Officers were able to stop the male and placed him suspect into handcuffs.

Pinkett was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

  • Receiving Stolen Property under $1,200
  • Larceny From a Building
