At about 2:26 PM, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Youssouf Mboukoh, 22, of Jamaica Plain, on firearm charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of 295 Centre Street when they observed a motor vehicle double parked. Officers conducted an inquiry of the vehicle, which revealed that it did not have an inspection sticker. Officers stopped their cruiser and attempted to turn around to approach the vehicle. Officers immediately observed the operator exit the vehicle and enter the rear hallway of the building. The front seat passenger remained in the vehicle.
Officers were able to make contact with the operator inside of the building. Officers requested the operator to provide a valid driver’s license which he stated he did not have one, and then gave officers a fake name. After further investigation, officers were able to determine the operator’s true identity which revealed that his license was suspended.
Officers approached the vehicle and requested the passenger to exit, which he complied after numerous attempts. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a firearm from inside. The firearm was later determined to be a Taurus G2C with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine. Officers also recovered two plastic bags of cocaine, two plastic bags of heroin, and two plastic bags of crack cocaine.
The drugs were later weighed and were approximately 27 grams of cocaine, two grams of heroin and four grams of crack cocaine. Officers also recovered 75 grams of an unknown white powder, and $828 in U.S. currency. The front passenger was later released from the scene.
