Roxbury Officers Recovered 115 Grams of Cocaine

At about 9:00 PM, on Friday, March 21, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Roberto Lima, 39, of Randolph, on drug trafficking offenses.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Quincy Street when they observed a motor vehicle blocking a crosswalk. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers advised the suspect of the reason for the stop, and engaged him in conversation.

Officers requested that the operator turn off the vehicle, and the operator immediately reached for the gear shifter in an attempt to flee. Officers were quickly able to turn off the vehicle and attempted to remove the operator. The suspect was now outside of the vehicle and began to resist officers by pulling his body away from them. Officers were eventually able to place the suspect into handcuffs.

After further investigation, officers recovered a large plastic bag of cocaine from inside the vehicle. A search incident to lawful arrest led to the recovery of a glass mason jar containing three additional medium sized plastic bags of cocaine. The drugs were later weighed and determined to be approximately 115 grams of cocaine.

Lima was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

–          Trafficking 100 Grams or More, Less Than 200 Grams of Class B

–          Resist Arrest

–          Fail to Stop for Police
