ShotSpotter Activation in Roxbury Leads Officers to Gunshot Victim and Arrest of Two Juvenile Suspects

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old male from Dorchester on multiple charges following a ShotSpotter activation at 62 Warren Street in Roxbury.

At approximately 4:56 PM, Officers responded to the activation and discovered a 29-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid until Boston EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

While processing the scene, Detectives launched an investigation and obtained surveillance footage capturing two suspects involved in the incident. Detectives disseminated images and broadcasted descriptions of the suspects to responding Officers.

Shortly after, Officers observed two males on Moreland Street matching the provided descriptions. One suspect, a 17-year-old male, was detained without incident, while the second, a 15-year-old male, attempted to flee. Following a brief foot pursuit, Officers, with assistance from the Boston Housing Police, apprehended the suspect.

Both juveniles were placed under arrest and are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on the following charges:

  • Assault with Intent to Murder While Armed
  • Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Building
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License
  • Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
  • Trespassing

During the booking process, a search of the 15-year-old suspect led to the discovery of a plastic bag concealed in his sock containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine. He will face an additional charge of Possession of a Class B Substance.
