Suspected Cocaine Trafficker Arrested Following Car Crash in South Boston

On Monday, March 10, 2025, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) arrested 34-year-old Andre Dos Santos, of Dorchester, on multiple charges following a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of M Street and East First Street in South Boston.

At approximately 5:21 PM, officers responded to a radio call reporting a motor vehicle accident at the location. Upon arrival, they observed Boston Fire Department personnel on scene and spoke with the operator of a Mazda, who stated that she had been struck by a Chevy.

When officers attempted to speak with the operator of the Chevy, he became aggressive, yelling and causing a disturbance that drew a crowd. As officers continued their attempts to engage with him, they detected an odor of alcohol on his breath and observed signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes and slurred speech.

The operator was identified as Andre Dos Santos, and a subsequent investigation led to his arrest for disorderly conduct and suspected operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. During a search of Dos Santos, officers recovered a plastic bag from his front right jeans pocket, which was found to contain 18 smaller bags of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

Additionally, officers located a small white vial containing a plastic bag of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine on a passenger inside Dos Santos’ vehicle. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency in various denominations was also recovered from Dos Santos’ person.

Andre Dos Santos was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court on the following charges:

  • OUI Liquor
  • Trafficking Cocaine (18–36 Grams)
  • Disorderly Conduct

The passenger in Dos Santos’ vehicle was issued a summons to appear in South Boston District Court for Possession of a Class B Substance (Cocaine).
