Investigation Update: Two Suspects Arrested For The 35 Tennis Road Homicide

Investigation Update: At about 7:15 PM, on Thursday, March 6, 2025, members of the Fugitive Unit, U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, and officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan), arrested Shovan Darby, 29, of East Weymouth, in the area of 4 Astoria Street. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for the Murder of Mauricio M. Lawrence, 33, of Mattapan. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

A second suspect, Roberto Taylor, 29, of Dorchester, was also charged with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Carrying a Loaded Firearm. Taylor is currently in custody on other charges.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At approximately 11:30 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a Person Shot in the area of 35 Tennis Road, Mattapan.

Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Boston EMS responded and, while transporting the victim to Boston Medical Center, pronounced him deceased. The victim has since been identified as Mauricio M. Lawrence, 33, of Mattapan.
