At about 9:25 AM, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Keon Boggs, 42, of Boston, on firearm offenses.
Officers responded to the area of Dudley Street and Putnam Street for a report of shots fired. Boston Police Operations provided officers with a description of the suspect and direction of flight.
Two officers working a paid detail in the area immediately responded to the scene. The detail officers observed an individual matching the suspect description running towards Bartlett Street. A foot pursuit ensued, and with the assistance of responding officers, the suspect was taken into custody.
Officers recovered a firearm from the suspect’s right pant pocket, a box containing sixteen rounds of ammunition from his left pant pocket, and two spent shell casings in his coat pocket. The firearm was later determined to be a Taurus 709 with one round in the chamber and three rounds in the magazine.
Officers observed ballistic damage to a motor vehicle in the area of 7 Dudley Street. Officers canvassed the area and did not locate any victims.
Boggs was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Subsequent Offense
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License Second Offense
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License Second Offense
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
- Firearm Violation with Two Prior Violent/Drug Crimes
- Withhold Evidence from a Criminal Proceeding
- Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling
He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
