Suspects Arrested Following a Breaking and Entering in Roxbury

At about 10:00 PM, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Daquan Flowers, 24, of Boston, Don’Quell Mayes, 23, of Stoughton, for breaking and entering.

Officers responded to the area of 66 Dabney Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals standing in the side yard of 98 Dabney Street wearing masks and holding a black duffle bag.

As officers exited their cruiser to further investigate, the individuals began to flee in a full sprint and a foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to apprehend one suspect in the area of 14 Circuit Street, and a second suspect in the area of 61 Walnut Avenue.

Officers began to canvass the area and located a person shot on the staircase adjacent to 98 Dabney Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers were able to speak with the victim, and conducted a protective sweep of the building. Police obtained video evidence, and the video shows one of the suspects kicking the front door and all three suspects made entry into the residence. Officers located a discarded Glock magazine capable of holding thirty rounds in front of 66 Dabney Street.

After review of the video evidence, it was determined that the individuals detained were in fact the suspects who broke into 66 Dabney Street. The victim/third suspect is currently being guarded by officers at a local hospital. The residence was secured by officers pending a search warrant.

Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged with Breaking and Entering Nighttime for a Felony. Officers recovered multiple paper folds of heroin and crack cocaine from Mayes and he was additionally charged with Possession of Class A, and Possession of Class B. The suspects are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
