At about 2:00 AM, on Friday, February 21, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Kewin Paul, 26, of Roxbury, for drug and stolen property offenses.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue when they observed a motor vehicle with excessive window tint make an unsafe lane change. Officers followed the vehicle and observed it traveling at a high rate of speed, and failed to stop for two red lights.
At this time, officers activated their marked cruiser’s lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Warren Street and Woodbine Street. Officers made contact with the operator and he advised officers that his license was suspended.
Officers requested the operator to exit the vehicle, and conducted a motor vehicle inventory search. Officers recovered two plastic bags of crack cocaine, and placed the suspect into handcuffs. Officers searched the suspect, and recovered multiple checks with various names and companies on them. None of the checks were issued to the suspects.
Officers later determined that the crack cocaine weighed approximately 16 grams. Officers seized twenty-nine checks with a total amount of $24,078.77.
Paul was placed under arrest and charged with Receiving Stolen Property over $1,200, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The suspect was also issued a Massachusetts Uniform Citation for various auto law violations. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
