At about 9:13 PM, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Jarrett Smith, 34, of Boston, on drug trafficking charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue towards Seaver Street when they observed a motor vehicle with a failed inspection sticker. Officers activated their marked cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.
Officers were able to stop the vehicle in the area of Georgia Street and Hartwell Street. Officers made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, and requested the operator to provide his license and registration.
The operator advised officers that he did not have a license. Officers determined that the operator’s license was suspended and requested that he exit the vehicle. Officers placed the suspect under arrest and conducted a search incident to lawful arrest.
Officers recovered two large plastic bags from inside the suspect’s left and right sleeves. The bags contained multiple plastic bags of crack cocaine, cocaine, and fentanyl. The drugs were later weighted and determined to be 27 grams of crack cocaine, 9 grams of cocaine, and 7 grams of fentanyl. Officers also recovered $404 in U.S. Currency, and loose plastic bags of marijuana.
Smith was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking of Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
