Officers Recover Stolen Firearm, Arrest Suspect in Dorchester

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, at approximately 3:45 PM, Officers assigned to the District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun at 91 Waldeck Street. Upon arrival, the Officers encountered a male suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Misael Barros, of Dorchester, who was acting suspiciously and appeared to be concealing a weapon.

As Officers approached the Barros, they observed him walking away from the building with his right hand in his jacket pocket and his right arm held close to his body, a common indication that an individual may be carrying a firearm. Based on the suspect’s behavior and the initial call, the Officers feared the individual was armed.

After Barros failed to comply with multiple commands to show his hands, Officers detained him and physically removed his hand from his pocket. A subsequent frisk revealed a firearm concealed in Barros’ clothing. A black Ruger SR40 firearm, along with a high-capacity magazine containing 13 rounds of ammunition, was recovered. The firearm was found to be stolen out of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Barros was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License
  • Possessing a Loaded Firearm Without a License
  • Possessing a Large-Capacity Firearm
  • Receiving Stolen Property
