Boston Police Dismantle Human Trafficking Operation in Brighton

On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM, Members of the Boston Police Human Trafficking Unit, along with Officers assigned to District D-14 (Brighton/Allston), arrested 26-year-old Xiaofeng Wang, a resident of Oakland Gardens, New York, on charges related to Human Trafficking and Prostitution in Brighton.

Earlier in the day, Detectives launched an investigation into 55 Brighton Avenue after receiving information regarding suspected commercial sex activity at the location. Officers conducted extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering to corroborate the information. Their investigation revealed that advertisements for sexual services had been posted on an online platform, where “dates” were arranged through a listed phone number. Detectives acting as sex buyers contacted the provided number and successfully negotiated an agreement for sexual services. Once the terms, pricing, and logistics were confirmed, Undercover Detectives acting as sex buyers prepared to meet the individual offering the services.

Following instructions received during the phone conversations, Detectives proceeded to a nearby location. Upon arrival, they made contact with Xiaofeng Wang, who then led the undercover investigator across the street and into the lobby of 55 Brighton Avenue. As Wang and the Detective entered the elevator, additional Officers intervened, detaining Wang while the investigation continued.

During a search of the premises, Officers identified two apartments within 55 Brighton Avenue that were being used for prostitution. Inside the first apartment, they discovered one female, while the second apartment contained two females. Both locations contained evidence consistent with commercial sex trafficking and Detectives seized approximately $7,021.00 dollars in U.S. Currency.

Following a comprehensive investigation, Xiaofeng Wang was placed under arrest. Wang is expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court on the following charges:

  • Human Trafficking
  • Deriving Support from Prostitution
