At about 7:05 PM, on Monday, January 13, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) arrested Jaron Manon, 27, of Lynn, on drug trafficking charges.
Officers were conducting an investigation in the area of 19 Farrington Street when they observed two males standing in the doorway of the building. Officers further observed one male to be on his cellphone, and then hand the phone to the other individual.
Officers took notice that the individuals left the entryway and briefly entered a parked motor vehicle. One individual then exited the vehicle and reapproached the entryway of the building. The officers observed a female party let the male individual into the building, but the male quickly exited under a minute later. Officers continued to watch these individuals, and observed these actions occur two more times.
The suspected individuals now entered the motor vehicle, and began to leave the area. Officers followed the motor vehicle and noticed that the left rear back up light was inoperable. Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Linden Street.
Officers made contact with the occupants and requested the operator to produce a driver’s license. Officers observed the operator to move his hands out of sight, and requested he keep his hands visible. The operator refused multiple times, and was requested to exit the vehicle. The operator continued to refuse officers’ orders and was removed from the vehicle. A struggle ensued and officers were able to place the suspect into handcuffs. Officers searched the suspect and recovered a large plastic bag containing Cocaine.
While this was transpiring, officers observed the rear passenger to be reaching for a knife that was clipped to his pants. Officers quickly took control of the knife and removed the two passengers from the vehicle. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the female suspect and recovered a plastic bag of mushrooms and Adderall. Officers also recovered multiple glass pipes from the suspect.
Officers now conducted a pat frisk of the second male suspect and the motor vehicle that was registered to him. Officers recovered two prescription pill bottles that did not belong to the owner and contained various pills.
Manon was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking of Class B and Operating After Suspension. He is expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court.
The other two suspects were summonsed to court for drug possession charges.
