BPD in the Community: District A-7 Hosts Meeting to Discuss Safety Tips for Spanish Speaking Community

Continuing to build connections with our Spanish-Speaking Community in East Boston!

Our Officers from District A-7 hosted an important meeting at their District station for our Spanish-speaking community, with the support of local elected officials. This gathering focused on ensuring everyone feels comfortable seeking assistance from the police, no matter their immigration status, and provided vital information on the following:

✅ What to expect when reporting a crime.
✅ Whether immigration status is ever requested.
✅ How to protect against scams, robberies, and thefts.
✅ Resources available to victims of crime and how to access them.

Presentations were delivered by officers from District A-7, along with representatives from the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts Office of Victim Assistance, and Greater Boston Legal Services. The event included a candid Q&A session, fostering open dialogue and understanding.

To ensure inclusivity, translation headsets were used, enabling real-time communication in both Spanish and English. The conversations were powerful and meaningful, and we are committed to continuing them in the future.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this impactful discussion!
