On Saturday, December 28, 2024, at approximately 4:26 PM, Officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested 31-year-old Caprice Brison of Hyde Park on firearm-related charges after responding to a report of a person with a gun near 1975 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester.
According to initial reports received while Officers were en route, a male suspect had brandished a firearm and threatened a victim before fleeing on foot along Dorchester Avenue with another male accomplice. Officers were provided with detailed suspect descriptions and began a search of the area.
During their search, Officers observed two individuals near the entrance of the Ashmont Train Station matching the descriptions provided. As the Officers approached, the suspects separated and began walking in opposite directions. When officers attempted to engage the suspects, both fled on foot. Officers pursued Brison, who was eventually apprehended on Beale Street after falling while attempting to evade capture. During the pursuit, Officers observed Brison discard an object under a parked vehicle. Despite an extensive search, the second suspect was not located.
A subsequent canvass of the area led to the recovery of a Titan Tiger .38 caliber revolver loaded with six live rounds of ammunition, found under the parked vehicle on Beale Street. The firearm was secured by District C-11 Detectives.
