At about 6:25 AM, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Teodorica Baptista, 32, of Dorchester, on various Breaking and Entering charges.
Officers responded to the area of 13 Shetland Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. Officers were familiar with the address as it has been plagued by numerous breaks. A Detective advised officers that an ID Wanted BRIC flyer was recently disseminated for a suspect who broke into an apartment at that same address.
Upon arrival, officers began to clear all the floors of the building, and observed an open door on the third flood. Officers announced their presence and made entrance into the apartment. Officers observed an individual matching the description from the BRIC flyer, and placed him into handcuffs.
Baptista was placed under arrest and charged with Breaking and Entering Nighttime for Felony, and Possession of Class A. Officers also determined that the suspect had an active arrest warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender Level II or III. The suspect was additionally charged with Breaking and Entering Nighttime for Felony in regards to an incident that occurred on Monday, December 2, 2024. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
