The Boston Police Department Remember the Service and Sacrifice of Sergeant John P. M. Wolfe 93 Years Ago Today

BPD Remembers: The men and women of the Boston Police Department remember the service and sacrifice of Sergeant John P. M. Wolfe 93 years ago today. On Tuesday, December 1, 1931, Sergeant Wolfe passed away as a result of injuries he sustained after being involved in a serious motor vehicle accident while on duty. Sergeant Wolfe was 51 years of age at the time of his death and had served the department for 24 years.

Sergeant Wolfe was laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mattapan. His name is located on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C., panel 58 west line 5. His name is also forever engraved on the Hero Wall at Boston Police Headquarters and the Massachusetts Law Enforcement Memorial at the State House in Boston.
