At about 1:20 AM, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Seven Dunkley, 20, of Roxbury, on firearm charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Mount Pleasant Street when they observed a motor vehicle driving the wrong way on a one-way street. Officers were aware of ongoing community complaints for such driving actions.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop in the area of 69 Winthrop Street. Officers made contact with the operator and requested his license and registration, which he could not produce. Officers were unable to confirm the registration status and requested the operator to exit the vehicle as it needed to be towed.
Officers conducted a motor vehicle inventory search and recovered a firearm. As officers located the firearm, the suspect began to run from the scene. A foot pursuit ensued and officers quickly placed the suspect into handcuffs.
The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 26 with twenty-three rounds in a thirty-one-round magazine. The firearm was also equipped with a Glock switch making the firearm fully automatic. Officers also recovered one large plastic bag, thirteen small plastic bags of marijuana, and $150 in U.S. currency.
Dunkley was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Second Offense, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition Subsequent Offense, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. The suspect also received a Massachusetts Uniform Citation for multiple violations of Motor Vehicle Laws. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
