On Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) and District D-4 (South End/Back Bay) implemented Operation Retail Theft and the Safe Shopping Initiative in partnership with local businesses to ensure that shoplifters are held accountable.
This operation was initiated at the CVS Drugstores located at 1575 Blue Hill Ave. and 231 Mass. Ave., to address ongoing community concerns in Mattapan as well as the Back Bay, and resulted in 9 arrests on numerous charges. These arrests stem from outstanding warrants or new charges because of this operation.
Javon Coleman, 21, of Braintree, MA was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charge of Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise.
Mateo Storms, 38, of Mattapan was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charge of Shoplifting by Asportation. Additionally, Storms had an active warrant for his arrest for the charge of Assault & Battery Dangerous Weapon.
Leo Chatelain, 42, of Mattapan was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charge of Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise. Additionally, Storms had an active warrant for his arrest for the charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
Jose Roque-Gomez, 40, of Mattapan was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charge of Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise.
A 17-Year-old Female of Braintree, MA, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charge of Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise.
Sereyvuti Vuti Yem, 40, of Boston was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the charge of Shoplifting Over $200.
Gerard Moore-Kahn, 35, of New Bedford, MA, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the charge of Shoplifting by Asportation. Additionally, Moore-Khan had an active warrant for his arrest for the charges of Possession of a Class A Drug with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Class B Drug, and Possession of a Class E Drug.
Marvin Harris, 53, of Boston, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the charge of Shoplifting by Asportation. Additionally, Harris had an active warrant for his arrest for the charges of Shoplifting by Asportation, Shoplifting by Asportation 2nd Offense, Trespassing, Larceny Under $1,200, Shoplifting by Concealing 3rd Offense, and Assault.
Kevin Bridgeman, 57, of Boston, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the charges of Larceny Under $1,200 (2 Counts), Resisting Arrest, and Common and Notorious Thief. Additionally, Bridgeman had an active warrant for his arrest for the charges of Shoplifting by Asportation, Larceny Over $1,200, and Possession of a Class B Substance (Subsequent Offense).
