Our current class of BPD recruits from our Academy traveled to Malcolm X Park in Roxbury to engage and cheer on the youth in the 2024 BEMO basketball tournament.
As part of incorporating Community Policing into our training – our recruits are frequently out in our neighborhoods. The recruits shot hoops with the kids, learning first hand the value of walking around and talking to the community!
The recruits met a few young kids who thanked them for watching their games & cheering them on. To top it all off, some said that they want to be a police officer!
A great time was had by all and we can’t wait for more events like this in the future!
