At about 7:53 PM, on Monday, September 9, 2024, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested Tuan Trieu, 53, of Boston, on firearm charges.
Officers responded to the area of 1707 Dorchester Avenue for a shot spotter activation and multiple 911 calls for shots fired. Officers were advised that the suspect shot at the victim multiple times and then placed the firearm in the back of his pants. Officers were able to broadcast a description of the suspect and the fleeing vehicle’s direction of flight.
Officers observed the vehicle operating at a high rate of speed on Dorchester Avenue. Officers immediately activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers made contact with the operator of the vehicle and requested he exit the vehicle. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to District C-11 for booking.
Officers began to canvass the flight path of the suspect, and recovered a discarded firearm. The firearm was later determined to be a Ghost Gun with seventeen rounds in a twenty-four round capacity magazine. Officers also recovered ballistic evidence on scene.
Trieu was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 3rd Offense, Two Counts of Assault to Murder, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
