Mattapan Drug Control Unit Arrested Suspect with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine

At about 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Leroy Samuels, 57, of Dorchester, on drug charges.

Officers were conducting an ongoing drug investigation in the area of River Street. Officers observed a male individual operating a motor vehicle who they were aware did not have an active driver’s license. Officers maintained surveillance of the vehicle and observed it pull over in the area of Mountain Avenue and Woodrow Avenue.

As the operator exited the vehicle, officers approached him and immediately placed him into handcuffs. Officers conducted a motor vehicle inventory search and recovered a digital scale with white powder residue still on the scale. Officers also recovered a glass container of crack cocaine, a plastic bag containing crack cocaine, plastic baggies, and other drug packaging materials.

Samuels was placed under arrest and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
