Suspect Arrested After a Stabbing Incident in Jamaica Plain

At about 9:42 PM, on Sunday, September 1, 2024, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) and District E-18 (Hyde Park) arrested Alex Pena, 50, of Hyde Park, on Assault and Battery charges.

Officers responded to the area of 383 Centre Street for a report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound. Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Boston Police Operations broadcasted a description of the suspect and a fleeing vehicle. At about 9:59 PM, Officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of 1251 Hyde Park Avenue. Officers approached the vehicle and immediately placed the sole occupant into handcuffs. It was later determined that the suspect’s driver’s license was suspended.

Pena was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License. He is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
