YVSF Recovered a Firearm and Drugs After a Motor Vehicle Stop in Dorchester

At about 8:28 PM, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Peda Legendd, 26, of Attleboro, on firearm and drug charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Washington Street and Dunbar Street when they observed a motor vehicle operating at a high rate of speed. Officers observed the vehicle turn onto Stockton Street and again accelerated at a fast pace.

At this time, officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a motor vehicle stop. Officers stopped the vehicle in the area of 25 Stockton Street.

After further investigation, officers requested the operator to exit the vehicle. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the vehicle and recovered a firearm, multiple plastic bags of drugs, scales, and drug packaging. The firearm was later determined to be a Ruger EC9 with one round in the chambers and four rounds in the magazine.

The drugs that were recovered were twenty-five plastic bags of marijuana, fifty individually wrapped marijuana chocolate bars, seven designer packages of marijuana, one plastic bag containing 4.7 grams of powder cocaine, one plastic bag containing 11.1 grams of cocaine, one plastic bag containing fifteen pressed pills of Fentanyl with a weight of 2.5 grams, five plastic bags of crack cocaine, three digital scales, and approximately $1,080 in US currency.

Legendd was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class E. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
