At about 6:00 AM, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, members of the Drug Control Unit of District B-2 (Roxbury), Detectives assigned to the Special Investigation Unit, B-2 Detectives, and members of the ATF, arrested three suspects in relation to a 2023 shooting in Roxbury. Officers also executed multiple search warrants and recovered three firearms, two of which were large capacity, two auto sear switches making the firearms fully automatic, several rounds of loose ammunition, distributable amounts of marijuana, and approximately $10,000 in US currency.
The following individuals were placed under arrest and are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Machyus Battle, 19, of Cambridge, was in custody on unrelated charges. He will face the following charges regarding the 2023 shooting.

At about 9:55 PM, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District D-4 (South End) arrested Orlando Diaz, 20, of Mattapan, and Ja’mori Williams, 19 of Roxbury, on firearm charges and active warrants related to the same 2023 shooting incident.
Officers were on patrol in the area of 618 Shawmut Avenue when they observed a motor vehicle being operated by a male individual they knew had an active warrant for his arrest. Officers observed the vehicle double park in the area obstructing the free flow of traffic.
At this time, officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers approached the motor vehicle and requested the operator to exit the vehicle. Officers placed the suspect into handcuffs, and immediately recognized the passenger to also have an active warrant for his arrest. The passenger was placed into handcuffs, and officers began to conduct a motor vehicle inventory search. As officers searched the vehicle, they recovered an 800 Type model 30000k taser.
Both suspects were placed under arrest for their warrants for involvement in a 2023 shooting in Roxbury. Williams was also additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of an Electric Stun Gun. Both are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 8:34 PM, on Friday, November 17, 2023, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of 11 Sherman Street for a report of a shot spotter activation. Boston Police Operations advised officers that the call had been upgraded to a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers observed an adult female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers recovered ballistic evidence on scene and observed ballistic damage to a motor vehicle.
