At about 10:21 PM, on July 4, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Jabbar White, 23, of Roslindale, Nikolas Laronde, 25, of Boston, and William Hudson, 25, of Hyde Park, on various firearm charges and active warrants.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Columbus Avenue and Cedar Street when they observed three motor vehicles idling in the Roxbury Community College parking lot. As officers drove their cruiser into the parking lot, one of the vehicles fled the scene towards New Heath Street.
Officers observed one vehicle had four occupants and the second vehicle was unoccupied. As officers approached the vehicle, they could smell a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the car. Officers observed an open bottle of alcohol inside the vehicle, and the occupants were holding plastic cups believed to be containing alcohol.
Officers observed the operator’s eyes to be red and glossy, as well as a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his breath. Officers requested for his license and registration, but he did not have a license on his person. Officers were able to identify the other occupants and knew that one had an active warrant for his arrest.
Officers requested the occupants to exit the vehicle, and placed Hudson into handcuffs. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the other occupants and recovered a firearm from White. Officers now began to search the vehicle and recovered a second firearm. Officers also recovered a headphone case containing multiple rounds of ammunition.
The firearms were later determined to be a stolen Smith and Wesson M&P Shield with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine, and a Taurus P92 with an empty fifteen round magazine. The headphone case contained fifteen 9mm rounds of ammunition.
White and Laronde were placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. White was additionally charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Laronde was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
Hudson was placed under arrest for an active arrest warrant for Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
All three suspects are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
