BPD Community Alert Update: At about 2:02 AM, on Friday, June 28th, 2024, Officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Cheval Holmes, 54, of Dorchester, after responding to a radio call for a breaking & entering in-progress near Blue Hill Ave. and Edgewood St, Roxbury.
While Officers were responding, radio operations informed them that a 911 call was received regarding a suspect who broke a window and entered a building. Radio operations provided the suspect’s description, location, and Officers began an investigation when they arrived.
Officers located an opening in a chain linked fence and started canvassing the area for suspects. During their investigation and canvas of the area, Officers located Holmes inside a trailer with multiple burglarious tools in his possession. Additionally, Officers conducted a query which revealed Holmes had multiple warrants and he was arrested.
After his arrest, B-2 Detectives were able to identify Holmes as a suspect in a breaking & entering incident that occurred at approximately 6:15 PM, on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024 near 65 Norfolk St, Dorchester.
Holmes is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for multiple warrants including the following charges: Five (5) counts of Breaking & Entering a Vehicle and/or Boat During the Nighttime, Three (3) counts of Breaking & Entering a Building During the Nighttime, Breaking & Entering a Building During the Daytime Putting a Person in Fear, Larceny from a Truck, Larceny from a Building, Attempted Larceny, Three (3) counts of Trespassing, and Possession of Class B Drugs.
Additionally, Holmes was also charged with Breaking & Entering a Building During the Nighttime, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Trespassing, and Possession of Class B Drugs Subsequent Offense.
