At about 1:30 AM, on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, District B-2 (Roxbury) Officers arrested Takari Hokett, 21, of Roxbury and recovered a firearm after responding to a radio call for shots fired behind 58 Circuit St, Roxbury.
Officers were responding to a report of two gunshots reported by a 911 caller who stated that they were heard coming from behind 58 Circuit St. Familiar with the area, Officers drove towards and up Regent St. because of its location behind Circuit St. and located a large group with multiple vehicles running, congregating in the middle of the street across from 53 Regent St, while drinking alcohol and playing loud music.
Officers approached the group to address several city ordinance violations when their attention was drawn to an individual attempting to walk away from officers, while grabbing his front hooded sweatshirt pocket with his hand, and turning his body away from Officers. An investigation followed and Officers identified the individual as Takari Hokett and recovered a firearm that was located inside the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt.
B-2 Detectives responded and the firearm was determined to be a black Keltec P-40 with no round in the chamber and six .40cal rounds in the magazine.
Takari Hokett was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Obliterated Serial Number, Public Intoxication and Drinking in Public.
