At about 8:42 PM, on Sunday, June 17th, 2024, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun near the American Legion Hwy. side of Franklin Park in Dorchester. When Officers arrived, they spoke with two victims who stated that they were inside Franklin Park near the intersection of American Legion Hwy. and Franklin Hill Ave. when a group of 5 to 6 males robbed them at gunpoint for their moped scooters and other personal effects.
The victims stated that one of the suspects retrieved a firearm from a fanny pack he was carrying and pointed it at the victims. Fearing for their safety, the victims handed over their two moped scooters, a helmet, keys, a wallet, a gold chain, and some medication before the suspects fled towards a large cookout inside of Franklin Park. Multiple Officers from District B3 & B2 responded to 14 Richfield St. and located the two stolen moped and a group of males that matched the description provided by the victims.
