Two Arrested and Large Capacity Firearm Recovered Following Traffic Stop in Dorchester

Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) recovered a firearm and arrested Kyle Lee, 33, of Mattapan and Quiana Bradley-Smith, 26, of Lynn, following a traffic stop at the intersection of Blue Hill Ave. and Paxton St, Dorchester.

At about 4:40 PM, on Thursday, June 13th, 2024, Officers were on patrol near Blue Hill Ave. and Harvard St. when their attention was drawn to a Toyota Corolla with very dark aftermarket window tints. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and conducted a traffic stop. When the Toyota came to a stop at Blue Hill Ave. and Paxton St, they approached the vehicle.

After Officers approached the vehicle and requested the tinted windows to be rolled down, they observed a driver and two passengers. Officers identified the operator of the vehicle as Quiana Bradley-Smith, the front seat passenger, and Kyle Lee in the rear passenger seat. Officers were provided a driver’s license by Bradley-Smith and a query revealed that her license was suspended.

While the query of the operator’s license was being conducted, Officers also observed unusual behavior by Lee, and his display of characteristics that he might be armed with a weapon. An investigation followed and resulted in the recovery of a knife from Lee’s waistband and a firearm that was located underneath the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

B-3 Detectives responded and determined that the firearm was a Glock 29 Gen 4 10mm auto with one round in the chamber and 15 rounds loaded in the magazine.

Quiana Bradley-Smith was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License. Bradley-Smith was also issued a Mass Uniform Citation for a Vehicle with a Nontransparent Window Obstruction.

Kyle Lee was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charges of Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card, Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card, Possession of a Firearm with Two Prior Violent and/or Drug Crime Offenses, and Resisting Arrest.
