At about 2:45 AM, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Armanni Santana, 26, of Hyde Park, on firearm charges.
Officers responded to the area of 36 Algonquin Street for a report of a person with a gun. Officers were advised by Boston Police Operations that a person in a vehicle has a firearm. As officers were responding to the call, they observed the involved motor vehicle in the area of Harvard Street.
At this time, officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers approached the motor vehicle, and advised the occupants of the reason for the stop. Officers requested the occupants to exit the vehicle to conduct a pat frisk.
As the passenger was exiting the vehicle, he was observed to be adjusting something near his waist. Officers conducted a pat frisk, and recovered a firearm from the passenger. The firearm was later determined to be a Taurus G3C with one round in the chamber, and eleven rounds in the magazine. The operator of the motor vehicle was promptly released from the scene.
Santana was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
