Suspect Arrested for Trafficking of Cocaine and Fentanyl in Roxbury

At about 5:27 PM, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, members of the Drug Control Unit of District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Wellington Guzman, 25, of Dorchester, on drug trafficking charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of 16 Harrow Street to address ongoing community complaints of drug activity. Officers observed a motor vehicle park in front of the building, and a male individual exited the apartment. The male entered the motor vehicle passenger side, and the vehicle drove a short distance down the road. At that time, the passenger exited the vehicle, and the operator continued down the road.

Officers believed that a street level drug transaction had transpired inside the motor vehicle. Officers followed the vehicle and were able to conduct a traffic stop in the area of 141 Pleasant Street. Officers asked the operator basic questions which he was unable to answer. Officers requested the operator to exit the vehicle to conduct a pat frisk.

Officers attempted to pat frisk the operator, but he pushed officers’ hands away from him. Officers placed the suspect into handcuffs and recovered multiple plastic bags from the suspect’s pants pocket. Officers recovered eighteen plastic bags containing 31 grams of crack cocaine, five plastic bags containing 5 grams of cocaine, ten plastic bags containing 15 grams of fentanyl, and $876 in US currency.

Guzman was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking of class A, and trafficking of class B. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
