Officers Arrest Three after a Firearm is Found in a Park during Daily Clean Up

On Monday, May 13, 2024, around 9:43 AM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Jamuan Terrell Coakley-Thomason, 22, from Charlestown, along with a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old juvenile male. The arrest was made on charges related to firearms and drugs.

The officers responded to a report of a discovered firearm at a park located at 30 Mt Pleasant Ave. in Roxbury after a detail officer was notified of a found weapon. While in route to the location, they were informed that the suspect had returned to the park to retrieve the firearm. Upon arrival, officers engaged in a brief foot chase and successfully apprehended the suspects. During a frisk of the 13-year-old suspect, officers located a black firearm inside his backpack. The firearm was identified as a Glock 34 containing 10 rounds in the magazine, with a capacity of holding up to 30 rounds. Additionally, crack cocaine was discovered during the booking process, which belonged to Coakley-Thomason.

The 13-year-old juvenile male was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device. The 14-year-old male was charged with trespassing. Coakley-Thomason was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute. Coakley-Thomason is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court, while the juveniles are expected to be arraigned at Boston Juvenile Court.
