At approximately 4:55 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested Christopher Franklyn Alves, 35, of Dorchester, on shoplifting charges.
Officers were dispatched to 413 Centre St in Jamaica Plain to the Whole Foods Market for a shoplifter who had just stolen items from the store and fled towards Paul Gore Street. The suspect was described as a dark skin tone male carrying two backpacks. Officers headed towards Paul Gore Street where they spotted the suspect. Known to the officers for over ten prior shoplifting incidents, the suspect had two backpacks on his person. Upon conducting a pat frisk, officers located 4 bags of Whole Foods Brand shrimp in the suspect’s backpack.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Shoplifting by Asportation and Trespassing. He is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
